Got to target shoot the 10/22 and 5.56 today. That was a blast until my fingers froze out.

The first few times I shot, the 22 would jam. Guess that was user error. Once I started butting it tighter to my shoulder, all problems were fixed.

I'll learn, I'll learn. :smiley_coolpeace:

What brand of ammo did you have in the 10/22? I know some of the lower powder charged cheaper ammo will jam a semi auto quick. The charge isn't enough to push the slide back all the way and the next round gets pinched when the slide comes forward. Might need to try different brands of ammo as well. Might not have been user error at all. Just something I have found over the years of shooting the .22's. Have fun and shoot straight :)

They sold me a brick of American Eagle when I bought the gun. I know nothing about ammo and only learned there were differences due to TOO.

I was told I was not butting it tight enough. Guess years of crossbow shooting has done that to me, because I rarely butt the crossbow tightly. :smiley_chinrub:

This is all new to me. About 15 years ago, I got rid of a .22 pistol due to jamming all the time. I had no clue that different ammo could be the culprit and just thought it was a crap gun even though it was a Ruger.

I love my revolvers since they don't ever jam!

My goal this year is to learn how to actually handle guns. All my life I have been handed an already loaded gun (rifles or shotguns, etc) and simply told to take it off safety and pull the trigger. This was been both target shooting and hunting. Unfortunately, that hasn't taught me jack-shit on handling guns.

I intend to change that this year.

Good for you Diane. We should always strive to better ourselves and this is a good area to have more knowledge in my opinion.

Saw a herd of 23 deer about a mile from my house tonight. One of them was holding both sides. Probably 130-135" deer. Didn't look like any of the others were holding on although it was tough to see them. Might have been a couple basket racks in there. Either way, felt good to see deer. Haven't seen any locally for a long time.

Never heard of this being an issue with a semi auto gun not cycling rounds properly. I do know it is more then likely the ammo not having enough powder to blow the block back to pick up the next round correctly. I use the CCI mini mags and they work just fine in all of my .22's. Stay away from Thunderbolts. Half will misfire and never go off and the ones that do go bang will not have enough consistency to group if trying to use a scope.

Never shot the American Eagle ammo out of my .22's but I did shoot them out of my 9mm a few times and had some fail to loads but not a lot.

Enjoyed my favorite local hang out with Full Bore last night. TOO good stuff!

Went and watched a local herd of deer with my son tonight. Got a bunch of firewood split. Put together a new Boss snow pusher box today. Life isn't too bad.

Looks and sounds great everybody!
This past Wednesday night, Phil and I got to hang out at his favorite eatery. We shared deer pics on our phones and shot the bull. It was great to finally meet Phil. Hope we can meet again sometime.
