I'm liking that kid!

Judging by the video he's gonna need some help in the song writing world. I liked his voice about 80% of the time though. But I like where he stands and hope he makes it. Nashville sure is stacked against him that's for sure.

He does need some songwriting help.

I for one enjoy todays country music and this Shooter guy....well he looks like a total white trash and sounds even worse. No wonder I have never heard of him.

If you dont like the following songs, you're not right in the head and have little man syndrome rotflmao

Dierks Bentley-I hold on....great song
Gary Allen- Every storm runs out of rain..great song
Justin Moore-Till My last day...great song
Easton corbin- Someday when I'm old another great song

The one 'song' listed above that has potential is the Dierks Bentley song.It is pretty well wrote IMO( lyrical standpoint) and from the sound of it could be done with a more "country" sound an be a great tune. The song below is what I call a great NEWER country song.Three chords an the truth.

It brings tears to my eyes an a smile to my face at the same time.He dont look pretty or sing the prettiest but he is legit..

That woman in the video looks like the one that played Jax's kids mom on SOA.

I have to agree with Joe that Jamey Johnson is probably the only contemporary Nashville singer that can hold his own. The Canadian and Texas country music scene is were it is at if you like the real stuff.
Corb Lund might not have the best voice in the world but is song writing is extremely descriptive.

Great thread. Agree with much of the sentiment. Got a laugh from other parts.

Jamey Johnson is the real deal. Lives the life as well. Hope he doesn't crash and burn. His music will live on if he does. He will have followed the same path as many greats before him if he does. From the insiders in Nashville I know: He lives it.

Old Crow Medicine Show? Real deal. Well, maybe real deal with a touch of hippie.

The new country? Nothing more than pop music I can tolerate. It plays on my radio because most of it is safe for my kids to listen to. Country station or classic rock station. They aren't listening to the "pop" in my ride.

My wife and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary last night by going to the WCOL Legend Valley Fest with headliner Eric Church last night....he rocked the crowd pretty good but I was highly impressed with Big and Rich as they ROCKED that joint. I also got to see one of my favorites from long ago...Mark Chestnut! It was a good time. FYI if you ever go to a concert like this...I never bought a single beer ticket, picked them up off the ground all night and drank for free. It's amazing the things you see when you stay sober.

Dang Cory, I'm a cheap fugger. If it cost a nickel to shit, I'd puke instead. But no way in hell am I drinking open beer off the ground at a concert. I hope they were unopened cans. Nevermind. My reading comprehension is way off. I see you were getting tickets off the ground. Very nice

My fiance and I were there too, along with mound hill and another friend, I was probably one of the drunks dropping tickets haha
