Arrowheads

Hello all,
I am a first time poster on the Ohio Outdoors. I remember arrow head hunting when I was younger and would like to get back into it now. I live in Cuyahoga County and was wondering if anyone else here hails from the county and if so, could you suggest any spots I may begin my hunt for arrow heads? Thank you in advance.

Welcome. Sorry can't help with Cuyahoga co specifically but can give you some general info where to look. Plowed fields after a good rain, especially high spots near a stream. Streams where a bank is washed out or where gravel has silted out. Good luck.

Hey, good luck Bigten05 on your field excursion.
Personally, I am just waiting on a couple fields myself. This thread is gonna blow up a couple notches if I can spend some time in them! Lol

Very nice. Sometime I have topost some pics of Dad and my collection. I stopped to pick some sod onions yesterday and noticed the field was freshly turned where I have found a lot of points and tools. Might take my boy out Sunday for his first arrowhead hunt

Seen one half that size at a show sitting on the table and the person wanted something like $300 for it. I just laughed and kept walking. That was probably 2 years after I got mine. I have no idea where dad got mine but if I know him he didn't spend anywhere near that for it. He claimed he found it when his company had some new stone hauled in for the shipping dock. I didn't buy that but he never did tell me the truth about it lol

Awesome looking heads! I haven't looked for arrowheads for a long time. I used to find them in my aunt's garden after it had been tilled. I would love to have the time to look for them, maybe someday. Here are a few I have found.
I found this one in a creek after my parents' house was built. They pushed the dirt they dug for the basement down over the hill to fill in a low spot on the creek bank. I guess it may have been dug and washed into the creek from runoff.

My uncle found this one in his garden. It is broken.

I found a tomahawk head when I was a kid and I cannot seem to find it. Nothing like trying to find something twice lol. It is a cool color...almost orange. I'll search some more for it.
Here is a cool artifact I found when I was a kid down by the Lafayette on the bank of the Ohio River in Marietta. I think it may have been a button? Any ideas?

Probably cache stones. They would trade in bulk for them and a lot of the times bury them for later use, usually at the base of trees. Atleast that is what I've been told by some other collectors
