Hotel, motel, Hampton Inn...

Sad thing
If your gas line is plastic and yellow , not the older Orange
And they just cut the line

It should take a guy 2 min - 3 min to fix

Just need a short section of pipe and 2 Perfection couplings

Stab a coupling on the new pipe
Cut the old pipe
Stab on the coupling on the old pipe
Cut the old pipe
Cut the new pipe to length
Stab the coupling on to the old pipe
Stab the new pipe into the coupling

No need to even turn off the gas if it is a low pressure line
If med or high pressure , you just need to crimp the line first

If they need to replace the line to the curb valve
It just takes 1 less Perfection coupling , but a curb coupling would be needed
Then it should take less than 1/2 hr after the hole was dug

It is simple
They flat don't care about the consumer
Either you buy their gass or you don't

Back to the Hotel...

Getting all kinds of 90's music references in. Yeah I thought they had broke the gas line while digging for the water line but nope... They actually cut the fuggar off with a saw! The house was 52 degrees so...we are playing in the pool. 4 and 3 year olds don't do well in that temp. There has been so much more crap than I have said.

One final bitch. They were supposed to be there at 8am and when they hadn't showed by 9:30am I called CS and told them that no one was there and to see if they needed anything from me. The answer was "I am so sorry and no go do what ya gotta do". I leave to finish some trim on a build and at 11:30am the water company calls and says that CG is about to leave because they can't get in the house (Columbia Gas never called me). That was it. I call CG and go off. Get the man on the phone and he didn't quite see my plight. I three way called PUCO and he is having the crew work all night to get it done. I said while your at it put the meter outside so the meter reader doesn't need to come in the house. Drove by and picked up some tools and the meter was done. Supposed to be done at around 3am. We will see.

All of this is really Delco Waters fault but they are taking care of us and really had great CS. The only thing they are baulking on is lost wages and I expected that but plan on riding there ass about the inconvienance. I understand mistakes (even though this one was a for sure window licking/mouth breather moment). Everyone was a complete ass at CG until I got the CS VP and PUCO on the line.

The adventure should be over tomorrow,

Go after them for extra damage to your yard

As I understand it
If you raise a stink
They are suposed to compact and reseed the damaged area

If they give you greef
Get ahold of management and explain you have no problem sue ing them

Normaly they will jump through hoops to avoid a law suit

If they balk
First step is to contact every local TV station and ask for help

Always ask for as much as you can and ALWAYS name as many individuals/different companies on the complaint. You should be complaining to DELCO and Columbia and find two or three more to complain TOO, it puts the pressure on them to settle with you

Glad to hear the saga is just about over. It sounds like it's been nothing but a big pain in the ass, and having to do way more than you should have had to,in order to get the situation corrected.

Look at the bright side, at least the kids got to go swimming in the middle of winter. They were probably loving that!
