Online CCW Permit.

Having a shooting requirement is a joke. A 50 round class isn't going to teach people to shoot. The class should focus only on legalities before and after the shot.
Washington state just requires a background check fingerprints and 55 bucks. I doubt most people that get ccl's carry after a month anyway. 90 percent of my friends have ccl's and I am the only one that carries daily.

We have several states that do not even require a license to carry. In my opinion that's the way it should be. There are lots of people that probably shouldn't be carrying in public or even own a gun but that's not for me or a politician to decide. The right to defend yourself is a God given right that is also guaranteed by the Constitution. If you can pass a background check and buy a firearm at a gun store, you should be allowed to carry it also.

In Ohio, open carry is perfectly legal without a license or training of any kind. Someone can buy a pistol, load it and carry it in a holster in public and defend themselves if needed (can't have it loaded in your car without a CHL). To cover that same gun with a t-shirt requires a 12 hour class, a $67 fee and a plastic card in your wallet? Makes no sense.

The training requirements in Ohio are some of the most strict in the country.

So True.
But think back 10 yrs. ago when in Ohio we didn't have CCW. The CCW law we have now is being improved on each year and is a whole better when we nothing.
IMHO.

Well hell I went ahead and did it!! :smiley_bril: Watched a 41 minute video, took a 11 question test and got 100%. After passing the test in order to get my certificate I paid my $79.00 which I uploaded and have now. I have to fill out a form now to get my "Kit" to get finger printed, notarized....ect. and then mail it in. Pretty simple so far.

Also if anyone else wants to do this type in code FRIENDIT and get 20% off. :smiley_bril:

That only depends where you were. If you was in Toledo, Cleveland, Columbus, or Cincy that wouldn't fly.
Years ago a Hamilton newspaper delivery man was attack before sunrise and he shot at the attackers. The police wouldn't let him leave until they found more ammo to refill his gun. That wouldn't happen everywhere.

Keep me posted how it goes in Ohio. If it works I'm next.

I sure well Mike. $10.00 and I will give you the answers to the test! :smiley_crocodile: Seriously it is a easy test, the questions are based on what they guy talked about in the video. I had nothing to really do sitting here on the Rig so I went ahead and did it.

Does anyone know how I can apply for the ohio ccl out of state. I am active duty military so I know I am exempt from the class. I am still an ohio resident. I have always used my washington state permit which is valid in ohio through the reciprocity claus.

I'd call the attorney generals office and ask. That's really the only way of knowing.

You would have to apply in person in the county you "live in" or an adjoining county.
