Had a meeting at 3:30 that got me out of work. Didn't take that long so I got an unexpected evening in the stand. First time here this year.

Hoping to at least put a nice doe down tonight.

Very open there BSO, are there any thicker parts to your property? My thinking is it's too open for bait if they have any inclination that it's being hunted over.
Yes and no. Our farm is a Christmas tree farm. About 175 acres. The thicker stuff is not in our property. All on the east and west side neighbors. East is thick has neighbors. West is thick at some points but owned by Cub Cadet and mon huntable. So puts us in a quandary. Hunt the borders or try to bring them in towards the mid woods. I'll post a pic.

I wish I could find the trails. Lol. They walk freely through those woods and that whole side is a bedding area. So it's a crap shoot. Lol. And Kaiser, I honestly hate ground blinds. Don't like not bring able to see them coming. Never had good luck with them. Maybe ill have to change it up and get some.

Well I rattled in a buck for the first time ever. Very cool to see, i rattled in a young 4 pointer that thought he was a tommy tough guy, he walked in and actually grunted which was weird than he stiffened his legs as he walked around the brush and into the food plot, he wasn't happy when he walked into the plot and didn't see any bucks, than he proceeded to scan the area and as I went to put my sheds down he busted my movement, he walked off stiffen legged but didn't run out or blow or anything which I was very excited about. Maybe he thought I was a tree swaying or something because it was really windy. Either way it was a great experience and hopefully I will be able to rattle in a shooter this weekend

Popped the cherry tonight. First sit. Damn that took forever.

Covered in does. One came runnin by, cocked tail, and stunk. Never saw anything behind her. Very little visibility in this stand.

Time to get after it

I went back out, then had to run back to the house after just sitting for 1/2 an hr. When I went back out again, I went to a different spot altogether & had 4 deer come thru at 20 yards at 6:30. I never saw the mature momma, who in fact saw me moving my head around the tree. I didn't have the G. blind with me this time. There were some other stragglers & I thought I heard a grunt, but none of them came thru.
