I just keep staring out the window trying to motivate myself to go. Doubt it's gonna happen. Really hate to get the muzzy soaked. Time to either take the wife to make Christmas returns or take Klay bow shopping. Gotta get out of the house. Probably still hunt tomorrow in the high winds and wet ground.

Good luck out there guys. Deer seemed to be out feeding this morning as I was driving around. Didn't see any orange in the woods at all.

Seems to be hitting the blind slower now. Hopefully it tapers off and Garrett gets a shot at one. 20-30mph winds tomorrow and colder. He opted to sit in a blind in the rain. Doubt we head out tomorrow. Tomorrow will be amazing spot and stalk weather.

Just in case anyone was wondering. It's terrible outside. Had two does @ 100 and 2 more @ 150. Both could have been dead but gonna wait on some antlers. May be eating tag soup. Gonna go against everything and push some thickets with my buddy and his brothers tomorrow am. We'll see what happens.

We cut out around 530pm. Would have loved to have stayed until last light. Garrett was done. Close enough to last light.

I was putting the legs up on the Bogpod and heard a noise. Garrett was holding the ML. I smacked his leg as I spotted a fox. He begins to draw up the muzzie asking "Can I shoot it?" Me- No you cannot. So he starts handing it to me saying "Here. YOU shoot it then!" lol Probably should have just to keep his interest in the outdoors. Sure weren't any deer moving in those conditions. Kept hoping the rains would settle down and deer would move the last hour. Maybe they did. Not where we were sitting though.

Made it to 20 min til dark. Holy chit it was pitch black when I got down let alone driving down the road when the legal last minute hit.

Have not been that wet in a long time but the Predator gear and carhartts kept me warm. I just love hunting in my bibs, got to get me a camo pair

I saw two bucks, the goofy horned big 'en and a dink. They came out at 506. Watched them for a time before they headed into a woods 500 yds west of me. Had three antlerless come right in front of my blind about 520. They stayed until 645 when I finally flashed them with an LED flashlight to move them out of the wheat field so I could leave. Somewhere in there before I got too dark to see shapes, two more deer came across the wheat field at 100 yds or so. The one following was substantially bigger than the one leading, may have been the same two bucks I saw earlier but it was too dark to tell. Big fun in the magic carpet blind tonight! Can't wait to do it again tomorrow!

BTW, this is the first time I can remember seeing nightcrawlers in the beam of my flashlight at the end of a January hunt...weird.
