I didn’t take any pictures later when things were really growing. This is shortly after planting. The tall green plants that are running along the left is salsify, In the top left there is a patch of horseradish. I think there are onions and lettuce growing right up the middle.


This garden is 75’ x 90’

This is a picture of the garden we grow sweet corn in. It has 5 strands of electric fence all the way around it. I can unhook the ends so I can run my tiller through the ends and turn around.


This garden is 35’ x 120’

I found a place that has horses and clean the stalls everyday. I think they throw out more straw than horse manure. I am going to take my trailer over there and start hauling it home. I won't have to buy straw and will get road apples as a bonus!

Only problem with horse manure is it has a lot of weed seeds in it. I hope I wont regret all the horse manure I have put in my gardens this winter.

I hear ya on the horse manure, been battling weeds I introduced for years now. The newspaper really helps with the weeds and holds moisture in. It works great if you are having a hot summer, but have to be careful when you are having cool nights. The moisture trapped underneath invites mold problems.

The past few years I have been adding mushroom compost in some of my beds. It's pricey so I have only used it in a few places. My garlic loves it and so do the carrots.

Nice garden! I wish I took more pictures.

Question how many corn seeds per. lb. I was looking at my seed catalogs. Burpee has corn advertised 800 seeds. Another place sells by the 1/4, 1/2 and 1 lb. I wouldn't think 800 seeds would be 1/2 lb. but don't know.

Here is an old one about 6 years ago. It is kind of fuzzy but it shows me using my favorite garden tool.

hey where do you guys find those peat pots at? i have some trees i am trying to start.

Milo try Ach Nursery. They have or have gotten (hate that word) everything I needed. I think that is where I bought my peat pots.
