I carry the full size 21 and wanted something smaller for summer carry so i went with the 30. My hands are medium size and it fits well. I took 150 rounds but brought 50 home with me for next time. Lots of power in a small pistol thats for sure.

Added a set of X/S 24/7 big dot night sights. For my older eyes they are a big help and were easy to install. 0626151658-00.jpg

Yeah i always been a three dot sight guy but the older i get i almost need a ping pong ball on the end of my gun to see it lol. I liked that i didn't need a sight pusher and was able to do it myself. They give you everything you need including a little wrench to take the front sight nut off.

Those look nice.

I saw a show the other day where a guy was teaching his tw daughters how to shoot. Under the red circle bullseye, he used a sharpie to draw the front sight and back sight so the kid had to match up the sights to the target and then see how they sit under the bullseye...thought that was brilliant for teaching a new shooter.

I've had this for a while but the firing was broken when I got it. It's repaired now and ready for action. I'll break it in on squirrels this fall.

1898 German Mauser from WW1. After WW1 Germany was not permitted to make much in the way of firearms so they did a lot of conversions on surplus WWI 1898 Mausers in 8MM. I've seen and had 12 ga. single shot conversions in the past but when I seen this 28 ga. conversion come along I snatched it up. What is very unusual is that it's has a 2 round magazine converted from the 8MM magazine well. Making it a 3 shot. It weighs 5.7 lbs. and came with sling swivels attached.
Better yet my friend Doc shoots 28 ga. skeet so he gave me 3 boxes of reloads and more when I need them. This one is a keeper and I'll pass it along to my grandsons.

There is nothing like carrying history into the woods. A gun of that age would have some fascinating stories to tell. Every scuff, scratch or blemish in the wood finish.
A beautiful old gun. Thanks for the post.

That looks much nicer than most shotgun conversions I've seen. Stock looks very shootable. I shot an enfield converted to .410 once. That one wasn't very shootable.

I had a rare Enfield that India converted to .410 for police issue. It also had a boxed 22LR conversion barrel with a 22LR bolt. Bought it for nothing and sold it after couple years for 1K. Never did shoot it.
