After replanting most of my stuff three times do to the rain I gave up on my gardens. I do have several nice tomatoes setting on and picked and few pickles and peppers but other then my potatoes and onions my shit is pathetic. I will say Jesse what ever your doing keep it up man. Looks good
We are into our second year of some sort of blight with the tomatoes. I'm afraid it is in the soil. This is the best year we have had for staying on top of weeds. Erin has been making zucchini bread daily. We have managed a few heads of lettuce. Tomatoes are coming on, but not sure how they will turn out. Peppers are coming on as well. Glad our garden is in two raised rows. Both rows are about 1.5' tall. They have drained fairly well. Probably the only thing which has saved us.
Tomato plants are tall and full but are dying off from the bottom limbs up. Does this sound like a blight? That is what Erin read up on and decided. I have no idea really.

Yea sounds like blight Phil. Trim the dead branches off and discard them elsewhere. Then spray them once a week with i believe its copper sulfide of 10 % or better. It probably is in the soil and its a bitch to get rid of. I fought it the last two years. The best thing I found to get rid of it is bake your soil with some visquine and cover you spot where you plan on planting your tomatoes next year. I covered a spot last august for this years tomatoes and it seem to work until we got all the rain. Hope this helps Phil.
She's on the way out, but not without one last harvest. Pulled 250+ pounds of produce from here this summer and stocked a once bare shelf full of delicious goodies. Learned a lot this year and can't wait to make corrections and do better next year!

You had an outstanding year...even if you had 20 years experience, you would've been proud of this year. I sure hope you're proud of yourself. I also wouldn't be surprised if you got another harvest or two off it.
I'm very pleased to say the least. It's either beginners luck or I was blessed with a green thumb. It was a great year to grow, so there will be more challenging days ahead.
Can't beat a year like that for your first! It's a good feeling having home grown canned goods in the pantry for the winter!

Great results and then some Jesse! How did your corn turn out? I'm about to get knee deep in tomatoes and I have no idea what to do with them all. Should get my ass going and learn how to can, got all the Mason jars I'd need just have to do it I guess.
We had way too much water this year which flooded a lot of ours out. We did manage close to 40 quart of green beans, 10 or 12 quart of juice, and enough peppers, cucumber, and cabbage to eat on. Not a complete loss, but hoping for a better turn out next year.

Learn how to make Salsa.... It's so much better than store bought and it's easy and fun to make.

We started getting cherry tomatoes about a month or so ago, only 1 full size to date. The temps/sun next week will turn all of our plants next week and we'll be good to go. Lots of rain and low temps this spring hurt north central ohio that is for sure!

I definitely should, maybe in small jars. I've got a bunch of tomatoes that look like they're going to be ripe all at the same time. My wife will only eat salsa once in a blue moon and the kids, that would be punishment LOL.
I made salsa last weekend using Ron's recipe with some of my own tweaks and it was awesome. I eat salsa on my eggs and love me some blue corn chips with salsa!

My garden didn't do much this year do to the rain but I do raise a 250 lb pumpkin.This was kind of a fun task.
