So how's it looking for you guys this weekend? I'm about to tow the ranger out to the spot I plan on hunting and go pull a card, if nothing is showing up in the daylight hours I probably won't hunt there, as its a killer spot for the bucks come late October.

Just checked my camera. My target buck is showing up at last light during legal shooting time, going after him tomorrow evening.

Yes, very nice deer! Hey Chad, how's it feel!!!! Awesome feeling ain't it?!?!
Hell ya it is! I keep replaying the moment he walked out in the field over and over in my head. I wish I would of left my gopro on but there's no way I would of had time to turn it on and hit record.

Dang but how awesome would that have been! The way you described this set I'd say do everything in your power to keep this place to yourself! As long as the deer don't see or smell your presence you'll be able to snipe a good one every year if you hunt with the same strategy you did this year!

That's what I'm thinking. I'm not even going to run a camera in the woods where he fell during the early season next year, I'm staying out. Not putting my boots on the ground at all.

Anyone been getting out lately? I made it out tonight for the first time this week. I got busted by a really big 8 point. I had no idea he was there. I was busy watching a few does to my left and as I turned back to the right he was 35-40 yards away looking right at me. We had a stare off for about a min then he ran about 50 yards then stopped for a second then slowly walked up the hill so I don't think I messed him up to bad. I'm hoping to get out again tomorrow evening.

I haven't been out since last Saturday when my buddy killed his first deer, probably won't deer hunt again until Stroud's. I might go out to our land Sunday morning and try to put an arrow in one of the turkeys that's been showing up in my new food plot.

I spent 30 years bowhunting but stopped 10 years ago. I now only gun and MZ hunt so I won't be able to help until later in the season.

I'll be checking the cams in about a week to see what is running around in my area of Athens.
