Sweet Bones!!! Good luck this afternoon Isaac....Awesome sit Phil! sorry to hear no deer Outdoorsfella...Hoping RiverDude can score a deer!!!
Thanks! Of course this is turning into the longest day of my life lol. We tracked him for a quarter mile or so and had consistent blood that was intermittently heavily pooled in about 3" pools or so. We came to a spot where he bedded or was trying to pack his wound, not sure if we bumped him off of it. When we were getting near the last place we bedded him the blood was consistent in each footprint and was a steady drizzle across a gravel lane. We got to within 30 yards of him and he never spooked but calmly walked away when we did. Big pool of blood in his last bed. It was nice deep red blood so I'm hoping liver maybe or just behind the shoulders and the bolt is still in there since I never found it during tracking. I'll keep y'all posted...

Just had another 1.5yr old buck stroll thru. Was thinking about wrapping it up and getting to work. Nope. That will keep me here until 10. Lol. Bit surprised I haven't seen any does yet.

Near zero wind today. Have had deer on all sides of me. Nothing but relaxed for every one of them. All within 50yds. Stand placement seems to be as good as I can do while still having cover. Visibility is not the best but is adequate. Nothing has seen me yet and I am up, down, peeking around tree, etc to check lanes. Didn't spook anything on way in is always a plus. Being in tree an hour before legal light helps. So far I am digging this stand set.

What made you decide to keep pushing him last night after finding the first bed?

It looked as if he had thrashed around trying to pack his wound and kept moving. Only after thinking about it all day did I realize that he may have bedded down there but I don't really know. There wasn't really pooled blood but a lot of smear so that's why I was thinking he was trying to pack it and keep moving. Hope we made the right decision

Sometimes pushing will make it worse on him and not so much on you.... Especially with good blood.... Not always, but it does pay off at times....

That's kind of my thinking, especially if the bolt is lodged and the more he moves, the more he bleeds. Just hard to know what to do sometimes. I know we did right by backing out when we did though
