Me too. I have never had a deer show up every day before dark like this Sure, late season, once in a while before sundown, but not like this guy. I don't plan to hunt again for several days due to work and the fact we have a couple girls away on vacation... But by golly, if he keeps this up his luck has to run out eventually.

The landowner has gotten a little active with the bush hog... May change things, may not. Last night was the second night since Mason missed the wide 10 that he didn't make an appearance before sundown. He did find his way in about 6 am, however, and headed off in the direction I suspect he spends a lot of his day. I won't be hunting tonight, but plan to tomorrow evening. It will be a ground assault, and I like my set up. With him looking me in the eye the other night, I don't want him to see me in the tree again. It's all good, I've got a great spot to hide with plenty of shooting lanes.

I drove Mason over to check out the stand I set up for him. He doesn't like it, but he will get used to it. It's a little higher than he is used to. On the way back down, he noticed a shed antler laying at the base of the tree. Pretty decent horn, looks to be chewed up pretty good. We left it there as its on the other side of the fence and I didn't want to fight the poison ivy to get to it. Maybe it's an omen... Only one doe has visited the apple pile I've started over there, but I suspect others will follow shortly. We'll see.

Saturday evening; saw 6 antlerless, squirrels, and possum. No big boy Sunday evening, saw one doe, a groundhog and some squirrels. Checked the cam, big 10 is moving after sundown finally, I assume due to the warm weather. He is at the apples about every 2.5 hours once he gets on his feet in the evening. I think my tree is getting too thin, and there is not another close by that will work. As bad as I hate to, I'm popping a ground blind tomorrow. I'm sure he will get used to it before the next cold front. Sure would be nice to not have to worry about him seeing me move!

Well, I hope he will acclimate to the blind soon. I won't be out Tuesday, I gotta work once in a while. I'm just hoping to keep him coming for a while, long enough to get an arrow in him and I'd like to get that done before the last week of October. Two guys are coming in the end of the month, and they like to hunt that side of this farm. Mason and I will have moved our operation elsewhere by then, hopefully. This dude loves apples, and thankfully, for now, I have plenty with more to gather. It's an awful feeling running out of cover, and knowing he checks that tree before coming in... I've seen him do it. :)

This is a cool 3 year old. I'm surprised he made it through winter. During Muzzleloader season last year, he broke his right rear leg. I don't know if he was shot or just snapped it, but he looked pretty poor in February. I was kinda bummed about it as he is always a regular on camera. I got video of him last year chasing a coyote off the apple pile. :) Anyway, he had a goofy rack last year too, so I suspect he always will.

Here is a pic of our No.2, I should say one of the two Mason will shoot... I'm not so picky. He looks to have lost a little antler since last year, but he's still pretty darn nice. I haven't checked the cam where I suspect No.1 is for a few days, so hopefully when I do he will be there. I'm trying to stay out of the area until Mason and I can hunt, maybe tomorrow.
