Damn it is finally here!
My freakin vacation has arrived,25 straight days of doing what i want which means trying to shoot a deer with the recurve again.
After shooting with Taylor at strouds and shooting some of his heavy broadheads i sharpened up some 150 gr wensel woodsman broadheads and also after shooting so much i added an inch length to my arrows as the others were a little short as my draw seems to be pulling all the way to my bow where the broadhead would touch.
Went out and shot some today and the heavier head doesn't seem to be much slower but damn did i notice a difference on how much better my arrows stabalized and grouped.
This group is at 22 yds.
I sharpen the heads starting with a bastard file and then go to a medium diamond stone and then a fine diamond stone.
Finish up taking them across a leather block.
Well the time has come to hit the woods starting tomorrow morning.
Going to try to take a doe over the next couple of days, after that if no luck i will hold off for a buck and the wait till late season for a doe.
Damn i am ready to go.lol
I also bought some pieces they call piggy backs so i can carry an extra arrow with a judo point or blunt with me when i'm hunting.
