Oh well, went out for a couple hours this afternoon and got humbled lol.... Had one at 430 yards and got a good solid rest, held on it for a solid 10 seconds squeezed the trigger.... Didn't see where it hit.... Got back on him as he headed too a tree line and he stopped.... Standing up looking back... Racked another round and squeezed one off aiming a couple of inches above and too the left as the wind was coming from the right..... Saw the poof of dirt just too the right of him and it was close.... Sat there for an hour seeing if he'd come back out but he wasn't having anything of it.... I think if I'd of held about six inches to the left I'd of probably of at least hit him.... Oh well, I know where too sit and I'll wait for a calmer day as the wind was 10-12 gusting.... He's my new goal lol..... The treeline where he stopped was 452 yards.... It may take a couple of trips but I'll bet it figured out lol

That's a very long shot. I went down the rabbit hole of YouTube and I watched a guy make a shot at one over 600 yards. It was one heck of a shot.

Great stuff!!! My farthest shot is 380 yards. Always wanted to get into the 500 yard club but we just don't have the fields for that distance on the farms I hunt. Good luck!!!

The field is 750 yards straight across and pretty close too double that at the angle I was sitting... I think the 450 is doable but it may take a few practice shots too get it down lol
I just wish I'd of seen where the first shot hit....

With your 243 if you sight in at one inch high at 100 yards and get one standing I would think with the cross hair right on top of his head would put the bullet right in the middle of his chest at 450.looks like a 13 inch drop at 400 with a 75 grain bullet so it looks like a little hold over is needed. I need to get my 22-250 out and get back in tune lol.

Decided too hit the range this morning and see if I was still on at 200 yards... I'd had a nagging doubt that the scope may have been bumped and wanted too make sure....

2.5" high at 200, was happy so I didn't mess with the adjustment.....

If you had the wind there this morning that we had here that is some very good shooting. Whoops I see you posted that yesterday, still good shooting at 200 yards.

Thanks Dick, that means a lot....

Relatively calm morning with wind from the left too the right at about 3 mph....

Now if I can just get another chance at the hog at 480 yards again lol

Fat bastard #3 sniped from the bathroom window! Those Federal 3rd degree rolled her right over.

How far of a shot Steve?

Been slow recently, haven't really seen much all week.... Lots of activity on both farms with plowing planting going on.... Alfalfa fields are getting a little high and some areas if they don't stand up you have a hard time seeing them....

Liking Hoyts shotgun idea lol.... Might walk the tree lines with 3" turkey loads lol.... That would be kinda a trifecta deal lol.... .22 mag .243 then 20ga lol

Maybe 20 yds. But it was from the second story bathroom. I've shot more groundhogs with my turkey gun than I have turkeys!! LOL
