I agree with ya Joe!
I really don't have an issue with NR at all, hell I've been one before!
I have just continued to not understand the reason for price increases. Again for all the reasons I have listed above. Business wise, doesn't make any sense to me.
I will tell you one, if anything to just match the other big buck destination states. Hell, people drive 5-10 miles out of their way to save .10 per gal of gas these days! They go to garage sales trying to lowball practically new kid clothes from $2 to $1 and bitch if the seller doesn't budge! I've always found if someone wants something bad enough they'll pay whatever it takes to get it.
Plus, Ohio has much less available land as other states due to the large cities surrounded by hundreds of small communities so increasing the licenses would help curtail the influx of NR into our state to chase deer. Too many is a bad thing and I think it's tilted too far that way right now and we need to balance it out. I have no problem sharing our state with NR as I might like to visit their state sometime in the future if life allows me too.
Right now as it stands, hunting Ohio is a unbelievable bargain and it's crowded the deer woods in many areas and it's time to put Ohio right up there with Iowa,Illinois and other big buck states as far as cost. Just my opinion.
