Thanks guys! I've had about 2 hours of sleep and am running on fumes right now. The buck is at the butcher and I can finally get the knots out of my gut.
I don't even know how to begin to thank Dave. I called him last night and told him I shot one and that the deer didn't go down, very little blood on arrow etc., and the first thing out of his mouth (after he calmed my spastic ass down) was "what time we looking for him?" The generosity around here just continues to blow me away. He was on the road at 5:30 this morning to meet me at the farm. Dude's as good as a bloodhound - he literally walked like 80 yards straight to the deer with no blood trail (and then promptly puked like 4 times lmao).
Thanks also to Ric. We talked on the phone last night & he gave me great advice & encouragement. I know he wanted to be there too and would have if he didn't have to work. Appreciate it bud!
The shot was a little low but took out a lung and hit the liver which is exactly what you guys said happened. Pretty amazing to me that you can tell all that from the blood trail. I'd probably still be tracking that deer, and probably in the complete opposite direction, if it weren't for you guys lol
Thanks again Dave & Ric and everyone!!!
