How old is it? If it has any age too it, just replace it.
#FACKSAMSUNGIce maker finally gave up last week. New one installed under xtended warranty today, along with new heating element and tstats in Samsung dryer. Samsung microwave replaced last year....thanks J
Samsung..... let’s see how this one works……Mine isnt doing the ice issue again thankfully, but it does go to crushed ice all on its own. I have to take out the ice bin to flip a switch inside to fix it.Well…… Samsung refrigerator is getting relegated to a garage beer fridge. Ice maker finally gave up the ghost. The last service guy said the water tube is damaged and there’s nothing they can do. Over this POS and moving on…..

Years ago, we had a fridgedaire do that. The kids would punch the button for crushed and it wouldn’t switch back and you had to remove the ice maker container and flip the lever. I got really good at doing it
Yeah my current one came from an old mans basement and have never had an issue with it. Sucks to get rid of it only b/c of a lot of stickers on it will be lost, but the ease of use will be a welcome change.
Do you have a Costco available? That’s who we went through. Free delivery and setup, they moved the current fridge to the garage, the old one taken away and set everything up. No extra charge. Plus they were cheaper than Lowe’s or Home Depot.
about an ice maker, I don’t use ice, except for the craft ice I’ll throw in the bourbon glass…. I have the molds for those.

Did some more shopping, and Costco was the best deal by a wide margin. Over $600 less than any other option to my door for identical model. Delivery in a couple of weeks. Thanks J.

After this experience with a poorly designed Samsung refrigerator (which replaced a 20 year old side by side Frigidaire with water and ice dispenser on door that was still working fine when I unplugged it) and my chat with the tech that replaced the ice maker, we made some different choices this time. GE Profile reputation for quality and repairability made that a simple choice. Going back to ice maker in the freezer and having no external dispensers. I've always hated that ugly mess on the door and am too lazy to clean it up every time I need ice or water. The model we chose has dual evaporators (one for refrigeration, one for freezer) and an internal water dispenser that can dispense water from a spigot while still in the door or removed and used as a 60 oz pitcher, say to fill a coffee maker with filtered water, that refills itself automatically every time you draw from it or remove it. This solves two problems very nicely. Ice is also made from filtered water and located in the freezer where it belongs. The technician told me that icemaker in the refrigerator being so far from the freezer is the root of the problems with ice makers in French door models. The LED light wall in the back of the refrigerator is really cool. Middle drawer has 4 customizable temperature settings from 29 to 42 degrees. Built in Wi-Fi allows control from smartphone or another device with an App. I also decided to pay for three years of additional warranty coverage. Pretty cheap insurance. I love Costco despite their commitment to wokeness.

Take a good digital picture of the front, then send it along with accurate measurements of the face of your new refrigerator to @Mike . Send him a blank check also. He could get a digital print made (like a car wrap) and it would replicate the old one.
