Roger that. I fixed the link in my post to use the link generated by the banner.

Thanks bud. You didn't have to do that bit I appreciate it. Helps keep the lights on. I like to throw it out there once in a while to remind petiole. If you get it let me know how it is.

thanks man!!! i never have found a whole point in a stream or river, what is the key to finding them in the streams?

Blind luck LOL! I've found 2 full points and a few scrapers by just looking for sharp edges that look like flint. Knowing there are many other things out there I am likely walking right past other items. Best time to do your looking in a stream is once the leaves are washed out. That's usually best in the spring but spring seems to have come early when it comes to run-off.

i never heard of this but now i think i am going to order it. did you end up ordering it?

You know, after looking at your collection I'd say you could write your own book! lol

I'm taking my 10 y/o out today to do some creeking and I'll be looking for artifacts. I don't expect to find anything but I'm looking forward to trying.

Not that I'm a professional or anything, but I've been told by a very successful Stream hunter to always walk against the current. Only hunt in creeks or sometimes called "branches" with rock and sand bars. Walk the edges of rock bars and always keep the sun at your back. Just keep your eyes peeled for Arrowhead shapes, points and bases. Also when in doubt of an object? Bend over and pick it up! Lol

I hope this little bit of info helps you out. Good luck!

Here are some pics of Dad and my collection. Photobucket is being a PIA so I will have to see if I can bring up the other pic. I also have a box with a bunch of tools, points and a stone axe I found where I currently live

If you notice in one of the above pics, there is a big empty space in the middle of a case. Dad had a beatiful, what we called a ceremonial spear point, but who knows. It was probably 6" long by 3" wide at the one end. It was white and beautiful as hell. When Dad was at Cleveland Clinic, he struck up a friendship with his Dr, who collected artifacts. A week or so before Dad died, he gave that to him as a token of appreciation, which I thought was awesome.
