Thanks guys. I got lucky on that one. Ordered it through a local gun shop back in the mid 90's and that is what was sent. The forend is the same as the stock.

Yeah the first ones had 21 inch barrels (my gun ) then they went to 23 inch. They also made a 1100 special field with the straight stock. Both in 20 and 12 ga.

Straight stock 870's are easy to find in 12 ga, tougher in 20. Those straight Ithacas are getting real hard to find and if you find a good one expect to pay big bucks. Browning made the BPS in both 12 and 20 and those are the most affordable.

Does anyone here have a Walther PPS? I'm thinking about picking one up after I sell my Glock 26. I also went to the fin today and looked at the new Smith and Wesson Shield performance center. The trigger was sweet and I really liked the sights.

I am really enjoying my sig p320. It's a great gun and the interchangeable parts making changing size, caliber or grip dimensions a couple of minute job. The stock trigger is also much better than the shields we own or the M&Ps i have shot.

I bought a PPKS for a friend. Nice size. Well built. Never carried it. Not sure if I ever fired it outside of showing my friend how to use it. Don't recall how it performed.

Back to my english stock shotgun search. A short handy 20 ga that i could use for mountian gouse hunting trips on the Olympic peninsula really apeals to me. I handled a browning bps upland special 20 ga 22 inch barrel at Sportsmans warehouse today. It felt heavy compared to my 1970s 20 ga wingmaster with a 28 inch barrel. So I think I will have to find a 870 special field 20 ga. I even momentarily considered reshaping my wingmasters stock from a semi pistol grip to a english straight stock. However that shotgun holds a lot of sentimental value with me so I decided against it. Also even though I have gotten pretty good at checkering stocks I doubt I would be able to blend in the checkering left over from the factory. I found a couple 870 special field ads while looking for stocks.

I shot a friend's Walther PPQ 9mm M2 today. If you are looking at buying a polymer handgun give these guns a serouis look. Great trigger, pointable, accuratet nice controls, and a high quality german build. The ppq check all the boxes other Plastic hyped up guns have missed for me. Guns like the Glocks, sig p320, Springfield xd, hk p30, ruger sr9, Smith and wesson m&p, ect. I'd serouisly adding one to my safe.

My second build on an 80% lower. I had the Armalite NM A2 upper and the green stock. Added a PSA nitride 1:7 twist 5.56 barrel and PSA bcg and single stage trigger.

Very Nice Sam!
I like what looks like a larger carry handle at the rear sight. Good color too.

I shoot at Point Blank range and they had a promotion last month congratulating Sig on the P320 being chosen as the new official sidearm, and were letting you try one with 5 free rounds. I gave it a whirl and gotta say I liked the feel of it when I fired it. I'm gonna buy a couple boxes of 9mm and give it a more thorough test - while I was initially excited about my M&P 40, I'm kinda cooling off a little.

Glad to hear you like it.
