Yep it's a damn chow hall. They always tried to pretty them up, decorate, add frufru shit. But then they would deliver the nastiest shit like green boil in he bag eggs in a murmite container to us in the field. I'd rather have turkey with gravy MRE than eat the junk they brought. The food in the chow hall was typically pretty good though.

WTF kind of chow hall are you at? Air Force chow hall I assume.

Im eating off base tonight with some higher ups. Middle eastern food is awesome. The chow hall on ali al salem is probably one of the worst prepared hot food chow halls in the aor. Camp arifjan has good food. Al mubarrak AB chow is the best. Camp buehring has decent food too. Ive been to just about all the major bases in the middle east on this deployment, so i can say salem has terrible food.

I was only at Salem once, to head out on mid tour leave. Didn't have time for chow hall shit. Arifjan wasn't too bad. Buehring was ok, Navistar was ok as well. Scania sucked, Anaconda was good, main chow hall, not the transient hall, where all of the truckers were camped, that one was terrible. That's about all I can remember.

My take on huevos rancheros. Eggs hot from the coop, homemade Pico with homegrown ingredients, Sriracha and a dollop of Daisy. Some spicy guacamole and a fresh mater and I'm feeling well fed!IMG_20170713_121350_098.jpg

When I'm on point with my diet, meals like this are perfect for a keto diet. Right now I eat twice a day and try to not eat between 8PM and noon. Just coffee and water in the AM after I wake up and nothing after 8PM. That lets me fast 16 of every 24 hours. There's some new clinical research out showing that eating in a 8-10 hour window and fasting in between is one of the healthiest ways to structure your caloric intake, assuming you're eating clean of course. This meal is high in fat, moderate in protein, super low carb and will leave me feeling full until dinner. Eating clean doesn't mean eating bland food!
