I could run one off a piece of old floor slate not conditioned and it would sound better than the Cody's I have and that is why I say its all in the striker.

Ive only ran these two pot calls and a couple different mouth calls since '03. Lots of birds have met there demise over them for sure lol. The glass is cherry and slate is walnut.
Sister in-laws birthday party is this weekend, so I turned a snow man for her. First one I've ever done. Might as well make more since Christmas will be here before we know it. This one is made out of ash. Gotta figure out what I'm going to use for the nose, not sure yet.

Thanks fellas. I kinda screwed the "neck" of the snowman up, but that's nothing a hand knitted scarf can't cover up lol.
Burned the hat and went with Tru oil for the finish, it's still wet. I'll probably put at least 4 coats on.

Got access to a bunch of wood today. Maple, Wild Cherry and a couple other types. These are from trees my buddy pruned earlier this spring. Any use for this stuff. Piece range from about 3-6" in diameter, lengths up to about 4'.
