Lol, yeah buddy, enjoy it! Nothing miserable about it. I did laugh when you said you’d trade your bow for a meal or whatever it was. How do you think people take kids hunting? They don’t understand being hungry, lol. Snacks snacks and more snacks.

I enjoy snacks as much as the kids. LOL. Killed a buck a couple of years ago when I was half way thru the bag of doritos. Had a mouthful when I let the arrow go.

A few years ago before I stopped puffin' on the cancer sticks, I would smoke 3-4 while in a stand and it never bothered the deer. As a matter of fact, I felt like I would always see deer right after smoking more often than not smoking. In turn this made me smoke more because I thought it was attracting the deer. Who knows, maybe it was, probably wasn't. Anyway, killed my biggest buck to date 15 minutes after finishing off a cup of coffee, nutter butters, and smoking a cig with wind blowing in the direction that the buck came from.

I have always brought food and something to drink. If it's comfortable weather I usually have just water in my pack but if it's cold the thermos with coffee or hot chocolate will be in there. Only thing I don't bring is anything spicy like jerky or sausages. PB&J is a regular for me but have taken turkey sandwiches or even those Lunch-a-bles the kids like.

This time of year I typically sit dark to dark in the treestand, or at least sunrise to 1:00 or 2:00 pm. The only way to do that is to stay as comfortable as possible, and making sure I have something to eat is a huge part of that. A sandwich, trail mix, jerky, nuts, etc. Water and/or coffee. Something with good protein. Fruits like apples and oranges which are basically just sugar aren't going to satisfy your hunger. I try not to pack anything that'll make too much noise, but I don't worry about the smell.

Took food out to the tree stand for the first time after making this post. Slow day in the woods, but certainly a game changer for my happiness.

I have to have something every couple of hours when sitting all day, even if it's just a handful of something like wasabi peas. I love crunchy snacks, so I usually have a couple small snack bags with wasabi peas, nuts, or chips. Plus with kids now, parade and Halloween candy is abundant right now!

Two years ago when I shot my buck I was drinking a cup of coffee. I just got settled in and he showed up so I had to put the coffee between my feet to shoot.

Almost always take coffee when it’s cold. Seen new silicone re usable/ washable sandwich bags? Amazon them. $3 ish apiece but last forever. I take food, I want to enjoy my time away and not quit because I’m hungry

Coffee and some big ol P & J ‘s

Now I use extra crunchy peanut butter, take a big bite and slowly eat the bread, jelly and peanut butter but the chunks get moved to the other side of my mouth. Then after eating the bite, I slowly start chewing up each peanut chunk one at a time. ( ya. I learned it from the squirrels)
It helps pass the time...

Stocked up tonight. Add in some sammiches and snack sticks or summer sausage and I'll be eating good! I'm ready to grind out November.
