Shot was back enough it didn’t stop on opposite shoulder. Heading back out shortly. Great blood 2-300 yards thru crp grass to edge of woods and just lost it. Found complete arrow half way thru grass. No guts or smell to arrow. Looked good. Can’t believe we lost the blood as good as it was spraying. He’s dead just gotta find it. Buddy bringing his dog this morning. The thing smelled real rutty at area where the shot was. Little bit of rain 1.5 hours after shot didn’t help but shoulda seen where it entered woods with tall grass and at least rubbing blood on sapling. Heavy rains overnight probably washed away blood. See what happens. I will search today until downpours start and Monday. I’m off all week on vacation.

I'm in the Cridersville area if you want some extra help. Hopefully you found him by now. My guess? If you lost blood, he may have been running low on fluids. Engine block was about to crack. Started wandering. Do some searching in 30-50yd radius around last blood. When they start to get low on fluids they do that sideways walk and swerve (think back to college days just before you puked in the corner).

No luck finding him today. Looked thoroughly in crp and woods. No body and any blood woulda been gone from storms last night. I will check standing corn 75 yards from Woods tomorrow. We think he may have backtracked and went to corn last night. Really bummed out. The shot wasn’t bad. He has to be in there somewhere.
Buddy has a drone but too windy to fly before he could get there. And also took my buddies bird dog and he searched all over with us. He was zigzagging everywhere.

The does have been in the back cut bean field every time the rain breaks. First time was around 8:30, then 1, now again at 4pm.

We just had a twister go through to the north of us, wife was at meijers in Sandusky with our oldest while it moved through castalia, then Sandusky then huron.

With a day like today keeping them hunkered down, the next couple of days should be great up here in the woods.
