Pinewood Derby - what's your secret?

This year’s race is Saturday. We finished up the cars tonight and the girls are pumped! Car names this year are Black Fire and The Cruising Carrot!

Derby time again!
Yesterday the girls marked the shape of this years cars and I got them cut and weighted.
Paint goes on tonight. I'm curious to see what it is they come up with???
Race is 4/6.

Just helped out Joshua with his. It was the first time I ever did one and learned a lot, I am more excited then he is for next year. He finished mid pac as well.

Finished 2nd in two heats. He won the "Coolest Car" award voted by his fellow scouts[emoji5]

I think one of my girls should paint their car red and put MAGA down the front of it. Wonder how that would go over???

The girls finally got the paint done. Shea’s is a candy cane and Reese says hers is a galaxy. Now time to polish the axels.

Shea finished in 1st place and Reese scored 4th! I think Reese would have done better but her car somehow jumped the track on her first of four heat races near the end of the track and slid across sideways. The winners are selected by the total time of all 4 heats this year so I am sure it cost her. Pretty happy though!
