Same Chuck. I killed a doe @ 265 yards two seasons ago. Right in the boiler room too.
Since a picture is worth a thousand words, a video must be worth a million.
I posted these last year also, but seems applicable again.
Here are 2 blood trails from a Barnes 290 TMZ from 2 does I shot one afternoon last gun season. Both were quartering away and the bullet stopped in the off shoulder. I can't even image what the trail would have been with an exit hole.
I'll let you decide if they would be worth a try.....
I switched and can tell you I will be purchasing the “EZ” loaders for the CVA. Broke a starter last year trying to get them in the barrel. Haven’t tried them in my TC yet.
100 grains/2 pellets of pyro. I also plan to make the switch to BlackHorn this year.
Thanks for bumping this to remind me to get on it!
Been seriously thinking about making the switch as well, might you around this summer with it to see how it compares to the triple 7.
Ohio Sam been using it for a while and really likes it.
I shoot 100 grains of pyro.
Dave's comment is correct. The only issue I have heard about with TMZs is they can be hard to push down in certain brand guns, especially with a fouled barrel.
The 'EZs' seem to be the answer here. I think their sabot is just a tad smaller diameter, but I beleive the bullet is the same.
I have an older Omega, and I can be a bitch to load them when fouled.
Google 'Barnes TMZ sabots vs EZ' and read away!
With ML’s I put a lot of faith in Kim. @Lundy
Yep, Frank is the go to guy on all things involving this subject...
Haven’t seen much of him around lately

Had some decent info in. Worth a read...
I actually changed from the STT to the TMZ and now to T-EZ.@giles here’s an interesting article about these sabots being used in a cva
