Ok we are back. This time it’s me and Hunter. We are in our stands on the bean fields this morning. Weather is shit w rain and wind in the forecast.
Couple things happened before I left last Sunday at the camp. We were cleaning up and had one more trip to the truck, went to go down the 3 steps and feet slipped out from under me, making me fall on my back on the steps. Thought I broke a rib but could still breathe. Hurts like a mofo. Been eating alieve like m&m’s and it’s helped some.
So yesterday I’m scooping ice to put in ice chest then leaving for the camp. I can feel my back hurting as I was scooping w a 5 gallon bucket. I say to myself, suck it up pussy. Get in the truck and my back is blowing up like I ripped my left lat. Saying to myself this is the wrong time for this shit. Drove home and soaked in hot tub and laid in bed till Hunter got off work. Told him the deal that if we go he’s gonna have to do everything like as if he was hunting with his mom. He says ok and loads up everything... all good right? Wrong!
About 1.5 hours from getting to camp the battery light comes on and looks like I’m running without an alternator. Fuck the gifts keep giving. Make it to an auto zone at 9pm “closing time”. They have my alternator, ask them to check it and they try but machine won’t read it cause my battery voltage is too low. I buy an alternator and a battery charger and leave 300$ lighter in my pocket. Still have to stop for fuel. Get fuel and jump back in truck that was still running and battery light was off. Good deal looks like it’s working now. Get a block away from camp and light comes back on. Get to camp and unload at 10:30 last night and put the charger on. 5 am battery is not fully charged but cranks up no problem. Get in stand this morning to find a 100 Ginny wasp in stand and no spray. Take my bill of my hat and smashed all the bastards. I hope my season doesn’t continue like this. I can’t cough, strain or even fart without-extreme pain like I’m being stabbed w a knife. I will update the hunt if it’s eventful. Good luck to all hunting today.
