How crazy is it to find a salamander crawling around, while looking for blood from a deer in January in Ohio?

Got aggressive yesterday and made an impromptu ground blind close too a fence row crossing. Have seen a group of 5 does make their way through there on a semi regular basis. Monday they were there but didn’t have enough light or confidence too make that 150 yard shot. That’ll be remedied this summer, but I figured I’d get up close and personal with them since the last day of muzzleloader season, and probably for me being out the remainder of the deer season.
Found a tree with adequate cover and trimmed out a couple shooting lanes. Got settled in around 4 and waited, enjoying the warm temps and watching trees bend too their limits without breaking in that wind. Hand a half dozen trains go by which being close too the tracks and on the ground will give you an idea of a earthquake of minor rector scale 😂
Well got to the go time and my head was on a swivel and I was getting amped up to see if my plan was going too work. 5:45 came and nothing showed. I gathered my stuff and did the 200 yard walk too the truck. When I got too the barn I slowed and peaked around the corner too see if I could see anything in the lower field along a creek. Yep all 5 doe were 50 yards from my truck.... Damn deer 😂😂😂
Oh well been a good season, had fun, enjoyed the company of friends and have some venison too show for it. That my friends is what it’s all about....

Finally some snow! Got about 2-3" here in Medina county. It'll make it easier for my weekly, 100# drag of yellow deer loving material. Lol. Still gotta help a couple friends with killing a deer, and I'd love to get it on film, so hope this keeps up!

In other completely unrelated news, I'll be picking up my new (to me) Massey Ferguson 135 on Friday! Very excited, will be the perfect size tractor to cart around for food plots and habitat management projects!
