Winter is a bitch for fly fishing ponds. I checked a public pond yesterday because cabin fever was getting the best of me. It was 60% or more ice free. That was enough. I pulled several this size out. The biggest issue was getting them up over the lip of ice that reached out about 10' or so off the shore.

Well this didn’t happen in Ohio, rather down south in Louisiana. Layne and my oldest DJ said they were going after some slabs this morning. I’d say they did good. Pics are in a 90 qt ice chest.
