You all have flaws in your theories. How many Mormans dos Joe know? I know a lot. I can think of ONE family that stocks up. They live in NC now. Not a single local keeps much that I'm aware of. So I guess you can't just follow someone home from the Mormon church, can you? Be a wolf? Sure. Go ahead. That will last until someone like. . .anyone on TOO. . . shoots your butt. All I'm saying is, good luck to you all. I hope Triple Deuce doesn't kill you when he is stealing your rabbits and goats, Giles.
Care to offer any solutions? It’s easy to sit back and point out issues, finding a better solution is the challenge I give to you.

Oh hicks. To assume I didn't do my homework better than that. I'm not saying much more on the subject outside of they're very nice welcoming people who once you get to know them in church like to talk.

For the rest. It's a numbers game. Some of the best prepared will die, some of the least prepared will survive. Nothing is a guarantee and death is random... While getting shot stealing is always a risk. Starving by doing nothing is a certainty.

If you're fool headed enough to sneak up and try to steal Giles's rabbits or goats then you won't last very long. Now if you're smart enough to show up before daylight, conceal yourself with a clear line of sight, and shoot him as soon as he steps out on the porch, then the goats and rabbits will likely be yours for the taking. There's nothing saying the same won't happen to you however. But it will be the person with the stronger will to survive and the least conscious who will endure.

No. I don't care to play this game. Maybe around the camp fire.
Hope we never have to play this game but with the movies and dramas they have on tv, I’m sure it’s crossed everyone’s mind. Most probably think they have all of the right answers but just from reading the posts on here, it’s apparent that you would have to join forces as many here have thought of something that others have not. Like Mike Tyson said, “everyone’s got a plan until they get punched in the face”.😂

If there’s ever anything like a road warrior type of apocalypse, getting away from populated areas would be a must. Having a small group of people with skills such as building bows, knowing what type of mushrooms are edible, bush skills, etc. are a necessity. A lot here in this group would be perfect for this type of scenario.👍

SHTF is a real scenario that I’ve gone over with my closet friends and some solid neighbors. Honestly, being a lone wolf IMO isn’t very sustainable but a community, or wolf pack, could be our best bet. More eyes watching your back, your family and helping with protection, farming, chores, medical etc.
Being a husband and father of two daughters my priorities fall to protection, running and gunning could leave them falling prey to the lowest of the low.

The lowest of the low will be those you have been programmed for generations they they have a right to be taken care of. So when the shit hits the fan they will have no problem thinking they have a right to your stuff.

Just look around and see how people act, lawlessness, no regard for human life, their own or others, I see how people act about the stupidest things, like a messed up order or not getting their way.

Lord only knows what a hungry person or a junkie looking for a fix will resort to.

I agree getting out populated areas, areas with low income housing, lots of people sucking on the government tit is a must.

How are you gonna get out? What’s that plan? Gonna ride a pig to the promise land?

Once it's bad there is no fool proof way outside of noncommercial private air transportation. The key is getting out early and ahead of it. Depending on the situation will dictate when you should have bugged out. My first wait and see spot is in vinton county. This is where I'll be waiting to see if I should make the next leg to a place in Lawrence County Ky.

And "cities" is a misnomer. You pretty much need to get out of the state of Ohio. It has way too high a population density for anywhere to be considered off the grid. As people in the city disperse, those in the suburbs will be ahead of them and so forth. The day after Katrina people in NOLO tried to make it to Lafayette and Baton Rouge. A normal 2 hour drive took 12 hours. Complicated further by vehicles that ran out of gas and blocked traffic until pushed off to the side. The time it took is not the point however, the point is they made it. Hardly anywhere in this whole state are you 2 hours away from a massive population density.

This thread is fascinating as hell to me. Somewhat unnerving, but still fascinating. Sadly I don't have much of a plan yet and this is giving me some motivation to change that. I do know now, however, the few people I'll do my best to get in touch with just prior to bugging out. Have guns, have lots of ammo, will travel!
