We have done standard auctions, silent auctions, and Chinese auctions. Regular options always seemed to bring in more money.

Its worse for internet sites Dave. That's why we don't do them. The last time we did to help pay the bills was years ago with a turkey call. We sold extra PM message storage limits with a chance to win a turkey call. This way we were selling a product and doing a giveaway. "No purchase necessary" but it would take a lowdown sumbitch to demand a ticket without purchase.

I don’t know if you guys have been following the donations, but the TOO family sure has made me proud. A ton of the names so far have come from here and I hope you all are as proud or more proud as I am. Thank you all! This place is more than a virtual campfire.

Looking for ideas fellas. Doing a fundraiser event November 9th in Gibsonburg. I understand the date...I argued it and lost.
Anyways, looking for good money making ideas. Going to do auction table style with open bidding on paper with the items.
Mexican food bar, charge each plate to just recoup the cost of the food.
Couple kegs, charge per cup.

What else are we missing? We are basically making things ourselves and excepting donation items to auction. None of us have ever done anything like this, so what kind of items do well at auctions?
Thinking big ticket items might be a gun, maybe a Lake Erie charter. We also have a set of M vs OS tickets for Ann Arbor this year.

Suggest doing a live auction instead of paper/silent auction. Seems to make more money as people get more involved.

RTIC is currently running a sale on their stuff. This would be a good ice chest to raffle. The size is up to you. People don’t mind dropping a 5 dollar chance on a 200-300$ ice chest that will last a lifetime.

Right! There are several raffles around her that raffle off 50 guns. You can win one or all as you keep the same number. You go to a FFL dealer and pick out 50 guns. Sell 1000 tickets from numbers 000-999. Use the pick 3 lottery numbers as winners, can do everyday or whenever desired. Usually yields about 24k in profit. Guns costing 24,5-25k. Person when that gun can either take it or use the value and upgrade to a different gun.
Hardest part is selling 1000 raffles. If everyone you know could sell 20, you’d be in the game.
