All used trucks need repairs. That’s why I bought new. My old truck get a payment worth of repairs every year. No truck is made from pussy, you will have to do repairs.

Was wondering if and when you would start to have issues. Lots and lots of complaints on the turbos with that. I believe the newer style has a bearing or something made from something different to keep it from wearing out in 30k miles. Better luck next time!

I did the updated turbo. I was aware of that issue before. But these other things are just pissing me off. 94,000 miles on a diesel truck and I feel like I’m replacing things that should last 200,000 miles. How’s that 6.6 Adam?

Bubba, I was gonna wait to post this after reading your posts, but you asked and I have wanted to scream at you for buying that Ford but you are a grown man.

I am loving this truck. I miss my Duramax something fierce, but again it's not apples to apples. I just turned 2100 miles on her and each day I am happier with different/new things. I have averaged 15.9 the last two fill ups, hand calculated. The last 3 trips showed 16.3 on the DIC, so it is maintaining the normal .25-1mpg accuracy difference. Lifetime average is showing 16.1 on trip 1 which I have successfully not reset over 4 tanks lol.

Picked up just shy of 14K tonight. It handled it like a champ even with the pintle slamming around.

Tranny: I was pleasantly surprised when pulling grades and when braking. (nothing crazy, North Central Ohio we are talking about lol). Shift points feel where they should be and I was surprised with the downshifts to help control the load. My first thought after throwing on tow/haul mode was oh man, I'm gonna miss that exhaust break the Duramax had, as I reached for the non-existent button. It is not by luck it still had original brakes on it after 106K miles. This girl did good and maintained 197-204*.

Power plant: There is not a lag or dead spot on a acceleration up to 60mph, which also surprised me. It's a gasser, stomping on it with that load to pass at highway speeds is apples to oranges. Running the higher RPM is gonna take a few heavy loads to adjust too but she did it while guzzling 87 octane🍻

I’m glad you have been satisfied with it. I should’ve just waited but thought I found a deal.

After my research, I’ll be pulling batteries tomorrow to test them. Sounds like one might be bad or it’s an exhaust sensor.

My gosh Dave! Didn't realize you had double trouble going on. Frustrating sounds like an understatement.

The only one I’m pissed about is the tow rig...seems I just can’t find a good one. The gmc is whatever, it doesn’t leave you stranded, just isn’t smooth. Clunks around and shutters. The car...I flat beat the shit outa that thing. I hate it, so I drive it like a teenager in hopes that it blows up so I can replace it with something fun.

I’d hate to buy a brand new truck to sit in the driveway 85% of the time.

You can get a tune for the GMC to cut the clunky and occasional tranny jerk outta it. Something to try is for lower speeds/in town driving put tow/haul mode on and see if that helps. Seems it's mostly a timing issue.
