Congrats, Red! Nice job on the doe.

Nate, that really sucks! He looked like a good one too.

I had a solid night in the tree. I saw a total of 17 deer that were in range of my binoculars. 3 of them were does that were on my property, but never came close enough for a shot. I did see a 120-130" buck on the neighboring property and he was chasing some does around the wheat field pretty hard. Fun to watch. Also had a coyote howling, barking, and came out into the open field. I tried to squeak him into range but he wasn't interested.

Two doe meandering in the distance at sunrise and a fox running around peeing on everything upright. Pretty quiet other than that. Well, quiet if you don’t count the local chapter of the tree chickens club that decided to meet outside my stand.

Foggy as hell here since well before daylight. I still cannot see 50 yards. I’ve never had any luck on foggy mornings.

Good luck to everyone out hunting today!

Nate, damn buddy, that buck was a tank! Any TC pics of him or do you think he’s out of his core and expanding it a bit?

Nope and it’s going to burn off and get up to 70* today. I’ll wait for that cold front later this week.

I did see a skipper following a doe and another doe with twins between 9:40 and 10:30. foolish to wait on anything this time of year if you can hunt. it can happen anytime, any place for the next three weeks. I'll be hunting every minute possible.

I was literally just having this argument with myself. I was also arguing with myself about trail cameras.

No pictures of him, however it's possible that Ryan seen him with an even bigger non typical while scouting late summer bean fields. Biggest deer I've seen alive, in person. Pictures just don't do him any justice. Perfectly symmetrical 10 with tine length for days. That deer will haunt me for awhile.

Hoping the afternoon brings me luck. Walked 3.6 miles in the goat country this morning looking for bear sign. What i found was minimal and not fresh so i dropped down a good bit and am sitting in a ridge thats climbs up the mountain. Hoping to catch a buck going coming down. Definitely wont pass a bear or pig though.
