Congrats Mason... Nicely done Brock... I had all my money riding on Mason as he was my favorite to get it done... Now to call Vegas and cash in my chips....

Yes we are. I just bought his second tag. May as well use it tomorrow if the opportunity presents itself. He has enough friends to tag along with if he fills his tag. Plus he can go with me. Kinda got the cart before the horse with that line of thinking anyway.
No dice today! Was a cold, hunter populated morning but still got to hear a couple gobbles, hunted till my fingers lost feeling and came home.. Turkey’s 1us 0. Got back out @4, nice and warm! Had 3 long beard silent birds at 20 and they seen us as we saw them! Turkey 2 us 0! Still lots of hunter competition in our sweet spots!!! Gonna drive to other end of the county tomorrow and see what happens! New ground! Fingered Crossed!

We had a gobbler late this afternoon that was pretty hot. We made a move on him and then he went silent. I know we didn’t spook him but not sure what happened. We are going back Tomorrow in where we heard some birds this morning. Hopefully they are roosted one the same place. We didn’t hear any go up to roost tonight where we were hunting. Final tally for the day.
Got one hammering away, sounds like he’s every bit of a mile away though. Kids still don’t want to wake up. I don’t blame them, I have close to zero interest in this. I’m just that bored with the lack of nothing going on.

We have six strutters with another half dozen hens in front of us. Just being turkeys. Hopefully they will move back in bow range in a bit.
What an incredible day! Yesterday morning Cam and I hit the woods for his first turkey hunt. We saw several birds but nothing close enough to shoot. In the afternoon, Kenley joined us for her first hunt. We were working a bird out in an open field when Cam says “Dad, there is a gobbler right by us”! He passed the blind at 10 yards but wouldn’t stop. He and 5 hens fed out in the field for 45 min and then came right back past us! Kenley was able to put an arrow in him for her first gobbler! Kenley and Cam can’t stop talking about Kenley’s hunt. I couldn’t be more proud of both of them! This will surely be a day I will never forget!

Congrats to all the youth hunters. Nice weather must have been the trick. We went back to where we heard 2 birds yesterday on the roost but couldn’t get to them in time. Over a mile walk each way but it was worth it. They can straight off the roost and almost ran us over. Colton shot it at 13 yards.
