Got off work at 5:00, jumped in the blind, May have heard one gobble over in West Virginia. Going to give them about 10 more minutes and it’s nap time.
Got the oldest in the blind with me this morning. Really foggy.... not a sound so far birds must have forgot to set the alarm clock
Anyone ever try putting a mirror in the strut zone? I’ve seen a ton of videos of them beating the grass down around blinds with windows on the ground. I also believe this is why they hang around traffic. It’s their reflection. Birds are to damn stupid to know they want to kick their own ass.

First bird for me in at least 5 years. Popped him 10 minutes after legal light.

Got to hear 2 birds gobble this am, there is not a better sound in the woods in my opinion! Couldn't go after them on the property that they were on but i was happy to hear some again! Seen 2 hens, called one in that seemed angry lol.
Plan to have Addy in there with hopes that one is roosted on our side tomorrow...maybe she can get lucky on the last day, its happened for Drew like that before...

Just got home, what a great trip. I haven’t hunted in that spot in a couple years. Lots of deer sign and even saw a few birds, nothing connected though. I found a turtle though. That may have made the trip!

I had one gobbling this morning but he was on private. I think I know where he is roosting on public and going to try and cut him off in the morning.

Hunt number 23 in 28 days. Should have been more but corona cost me a week in NC. This is the best morning weather wise of the season. But if nothing gobbles close by 6:15 I’m headed to bed. Working nights can suck at times. Good luck to anyone still on the struggle bus with me.

Well not quite the finish that we hoped for! Addy and I was setup at 0530 and only heard a few distant gobbles. We had a good season and I'm very fortunate to have seen many of sunrises with my kids this spring. We came up short in trying to get Addy a bird 3 years in row but it sure wasn't from lack of effort!
We walked within 10 yds of a hen sitting on 3 poults right along the road. A very cool experience for Addy!

Gobbler was close to where I thought he would be on the roost, but he was too close to the property line for me to get in between him and where he wanted to go. He gobbled good, but I heard hens and they took him away from me. Oh Well. Still got a couple of weeks in PA to hunt.
I'm out again tonight, had the safety off 3 times last night but he fed the wrong way, adjusted my position for tonight.
He stayed just out of range and just flew over my head to roost.....
Anyone know how to make roast turkey tag with dressing?

Tyler made the comment that this could be a really easy or frustrating year with all the birds we had around the house preseason. They were around through the first week of season but gone after that...and I mean gone! I really don't know what the reasoning is. I thought they would continue using our fields but they did not. We will regroup and try again next year. Congrats to all who scored and respect to all those that finished out the game.

Here is a video I took from the house Wednesday afternoon the first week. Yes, I was trying to get the wife to get off the phone and watch. lol there were 6 Toms, 4 Jakes and some hens.
