Glad you got that out of the way before I buy one . Seems like a pretty easy mistake after watching the video.

Very easy. So much so that one would assume it has happened quite frequently. I suspect there will be a sensor added to prevent startup with pellets in the fire box. Or at a minimum a sensor that required the lid to be open the duration of the startup process.

One would think that a little larger warning on the box would be a good idea. Starting to think that I should’ve started another thread with a big WARNING label. Little late now. Not sure if you have a way to add key word tags or not. It would be nice if this info was readily available for people beyond TOO to see. Feel free to edit any of my post if you can make that possible. 👍🏼

What is the remedy? The video gave the cause but didn’t say if you need to clean the pot by hand or somehow go through the shutdown process (c-5,c-4, etc).
Each manufacture actually has a warm up and shut down procedure. I think the biggest problem here is the flameout.

Works pretty good when you do it right. 😂

Wife just sprinkled a dry rub together out of the cupboard. Not sure what she used but it turned out pretty dang good.
