So it appears that 23 or so out of 25 under the age of 40 who died had some pretty serious preexisting conditions.
Pretty similar too.So it appears that 23 or so out of 25 under the age of 40 who died had some pretty serious preexisting conditions.
So I called the DOH Covid line and spoke to a really knowledgable individual. He confirmed that the case data on the Ohio COVID dashboard is ONLY active infections and does not include antibody tets. He has not personally seen an official state-reported antibody-positive dataset and was unsure where that data is being reported. Yet when I filled out the paperwork at Compunet it included a statement that data was required to be shared with the state DOH.

I know we're probably all just about done with the news, but I thought this was interesting. I've wondered all along if anyone had tried to put some data around face covering effectiveness versus lockdowns.
You all know how ticked off I got at the CDC & the Surgeon General about the whole lying about the masks bit, so this particular story caught my eye.I sound like a broken record, but I still wonder if we could have avoided destroying the economy if we hadn't been lied to early on about face coverings / masks and if everyone was educated on this way back when. Guess we'll never know.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended wearing masks in public settings to slow the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. A new study suggests that cases of COVID-19 could be cut significantly if 80 percent of people heeded this advice.
The research, published by a group of international experts, created a model that shows the cases could be cut significantly if "(near) universal masking" is adopted.
"Universal masking at 80 [percent] adoption flattens the curve significantly more than maintaining a strict lockdown," researchers wrote in the study, which has not yet been peer-reviewed.

If people would just social distance and wash their hands it would do wonders imo. Also, if everyone who THINKS they may have it would self quarantine and those who are compromised or at risk just continue to stay put and avoid exposure then I think herd immunity can be obtained with less deaths but that’s just my opinion.
