added another Swiss rifle to the collection. A K1911 (K means carbine) all matching #s, dated to 1918. Has the letter “P” stamped Below the SN which means it was sold the soldier who carried it. Troop tag under the buttplate says this was rifle of Capt Charles Landstein of Montreux
Got some help translating the tag.
Sat= private Charles Capt. Born 1913, landsturm = reserves, especially men aged 40-50. Montreux is the town he lived in.
Had a 110 heavy fluted ss barrel in .308 - very accurate - btw i went to Marine Corps Sniper school with the 30-06 M1 Grand so i just had to change out the trigger on the savage - hope yours is a shooter -
