Hello guys.
I hunt a private farm, always have, however as my family has grown and we eat more and more venison , I want to fill the freezer with more than my county bag limit will allow.
I would like to get into public land areas to try and accomplish this, and just a couple generic questions I’m hoping could get a little guidance on, since I’ve never experienced public lands actually hunting or during hunting season for that matter.
I’m assuming that pressure and crowds will be less during the work week as opposed to weekends, fair assessment?
Also, is the luck better in early bow season (October) before the hunting and rut activity really gets going?
I have no elaborate goals or misconceptions of big bucks (working on that on the farm) just looking to smack a mature doe for meat.
Thinking a couple spots in Alum Creek and/or Buck Creek parks primarily.
Any insight, be much appreciated! Thanks
