Northeast bound and down! Hunt Friday-Sunday. Then come home work two days and off for the rest of the year. Not mad at them, might fill a tag or two or just clear my head.

Nothing yet. Give it another hour and get down at ten. Pull cards and go scout public for the weekend hunt.

So I got down skunked. Had a buddy hunting w me and went to pull cards. At the 4 cam, we hear a deer walking in the crp. Upwind at 20 yards. Told my buddy it was one we wanted shot and to kill him. Dropped him at 60 yards. Deer weighed 225# 3 yr old.

None that I could tell. He was much smaller last year as a two yr old. He was a target buck this year. Happy hunter and plenty of meat.

Yeah Dave 3 yr olds weight 210-240 typically. These are delta deer w lots of ag and mast trees everywhere. That is live weight now and not gutted.
So here I am fixing to walk into the federal for my annual lottery hunt on the NWR. Typically I don’t kill but there is always that chance for a good buck. My boys had a screw up when putting in for the lottery so they will be on a WMA. I won’t go in far by myself maybe a quarter. Hunting a spot where people don’t usually hunt, hoping I get deer pushed to me. Will report back later. Good luck to all trying to puttem down. Gang gang!
