I’m usually nice once when I first meet people. It’s up too them too make it happen after that.
If you don't find it, are you going to give him access to look for it?Yea I am of the same opinion as your guys, he is a nice guy, came over talked about the deer. He said he was tempted to shoot a buck if he saw another one, but didn’t want to incase he found this deer. That alone tells me he is a stand up guy, because a douche bag slob hunter would kill another buck if he could and then try to find this one later and use a carcass permit.
I try to build relationships with the people around here because I live out of state and I figure the better relationships I have with guys, the better they will look out for my property and me.
The only way I would keep the deer is if I saw him alive and shot and killed him.

Did you share the pics you had of him 2 weeks after the shot? I wouldn't be surprised if that deer is still alive. I'm sure he's shed already.
I would be more inclined that he moved off than died. 2 weeks is a long time and he was eating. As long as he stayed clear of coyotes, I think he made it.
The odd part of this is that (for me and what I remember) I didn't see a broadhead wound. If you do find it, I'd check that spine for lead.
Yep. Also tree stand heights are like buck score. Often slightly exaggerated.
Good on you. Not that you need any more friends, but I think this is a smart move with your situation.
Look at Kevin getting all profound and shit....If one takes the high road, chances are, he'll sleep better at night.
Yeah he is, he’s done ALOT for me over the years. I’ve seen many friendships ruined over a deer. Not worth it to me.
