One thing that hasn't been mentioned is all the new gun owners. There have been record sales for the last almost year with the different levels of uncertainty and unrest across our nation. Add that to an election year with a host of anti2A possibilities and then with one of them being declared the winner and being inaugurated and then coming out with this:

Leads to a metric shit ton of guns being sold. If only half of them are going to new gun owners and each one bought 1 box of ammo that would lead to record ammo sales. Add in the uncertainty to the existing gun community considering the types of laws being discussed and proposed and you have everyone trying to get theirs.

I also heard that Remington has made virtually no ammo this year with all the bankruptcy and other corporate shenanigans as they got chopped up. So that's one major manufacturer of ammo removed from supply.

Do I think the manufacturers have contributed to the scenario we're in? ....hell yes.

Do I think its only their fault? ..... hell no.

I was at FFF the other day and a brick of 500 22 LR was $90!!!! Thank god I'm well supplied for a few years.

What I'm really hurting for is .410 hunting shells for my kids until they can manage a 20gauge.

Thanks for drawing out what I was trying to say, Doug. I agree 100% that we are our own problem here. Just like the TP shortage, lol.

I feel bad for all the new first time gun owners. They really need training but have to pay big $$ if they can even find ammo.
We really need their 2A support but this won’t help that.

Thanks Big Holla.... Ammo is non existent here in Jersey.... My big concern before fall is CCI magnum 209 primers and some Blackhorn powder... Hopefully they will show up on shelves... Might have to make a trip to Denny's Sporting Goods in Ohio....

I've got plenty of normal CCI 209 primers if you can't find any by then. Not sure how to hillbilly express to jersey but we can figure something out.

I could use a brick each if small and large pistol. I'm ok, I'm just pissed that I can't walk out and get what I want. And I bought reloading gear for my SIL, just need primers. And Bullseye powder, I'm out.

Just me bitchin

If you run out and can't replace get in touch. I've got some CCI 500, and CCI 300 primers. I've got titegroup, universal clays, and wsf.

I'm geared up for reloading but haven't had my press set up for a few years so short of a true shtf eotwawki situation i can spare what I'm not using.

I just struck gold the other day.... Looking for something in the garage I found a box of 35 Remingtons..... Thats like taking a sport jacket to the cleaner and first looking in the inside pocket and finding change from a $100 from the last time you wore it....

Looking for .380 for the wife last week. Box of 50 fmj target ammo, $47... fuck me running. And finding reloading components is like winning the lottery. We're pretty well stocked up at this point, but summers coming. I'll probably be shooting steel target challenge with .22 and doing a lot of dry fire practice. Hopefully things improve by then, but with all the new gun owners wanting to hit the range when the weather breaks, I'm expecting it to only get worse.

They likely diverted materials and processing to other calibers.

I want to know why we haven't allowed the import of more foreign ammo.
Yup... I wanted to do some plinking and looked all over for some 460 Weatherby for the kids to shoot..... Nada

Just joking about the 460.... But I did look and all out of stock... Now who in the hell is buying this stuff up???? Will it ever come back.... 35Whelen I have 10 boxes so Im good.....

Sgammo.com has some 5.56 & 7.62 available

Crazy times. 3x even what most would consider high prices. .90 cents a round for steel cased sheesh. 😳

Agreed its high.

0.90 for m855 is double almost 3x but ALOT cheaper than what Fin is selling it for.

1.20 for mk262 clone is about 30ish% higher than normal and the first I've seen it available in months.

m80 was much cheaper than anywhere when I've seen it available but almost double from 2019 pricing
