The same dog (Cassidy) who had surgery to remove a non cancerous tumor next to her spleen was just operated on again this past Saturday. My wife noticed a lump on her side that wasn’t there just days before...it turned out to be cancer. Now she’s on pain meds and must take it easy for the next two weeks before her next doctors appointment. We should find out then if the cancer is the kind that can be easily cured with the surgery she had or something much worse. Poor girl isn’t even 6 years old yet and has had three surgeries..two just this year. Hoping for the best outcome...she deserves a long life after all of the bullshit she’s had thrown her way.

Vet just called. We got news from her biopsy…cancer was low grade, margins were good…doctor said 85% of dogs with low grade cancers of this type recover fully. He said she has better than 85% chance of being fully cured by the surgery. We are still taking her to a cancer specialist next Tuesday just to confirm the prognosis and to stay on top of this. 😊👍

Doggie oncologist gave Cassidy a clean bill of health. Said to keep an eye out for anything else that may appear but also stated that they doubt we will have any more cancer appear from the surgical site….they did a good job getting it all. Nothing more needs to be done at this point. They also said that the surgery that was done earlier this year to remove a tumor and her spleen was as good of an outcome as we could’ve hoped for…that type of tumor is almost always fatal and we dodged a huge bullet with that. Hopefully this little girl can live out the rest of her life with no more medical troubles. Thanks for all of the well wishes.👍😊
