Good luck to all today. I’ll be working around here May end up going out May end up having a cold one.. See what the day brings.

Saw a pretty nice rub yesterday while I was out. Usually they don’t start showing up in the spot I hunted for another week.

only one scrape so far.. Here it seems around 14th for a week ya see some nice ones then ya hit that lull.. 🤷🏼‍♂️

We didn’t catch any deers this morning but we did witness the last of the fireflies flickering in the pitch-black field, heard two raccoons brawling in the dark, watched the woods come alive with fall’s colors becoming slightly more prominent, listened to wood ducks fly the creek at sunrise, had a coyote nearly slink into bow range, then came up on two doe in the field as we were walking out. Caleb was able to get drawn back but a shot opportunity never presented itself. As @brock ratcliff would say, “All the fun and none of the mess.”

Now I remember why I don’t like hunting dead calm evenings 🙄. Had a doe come in directly below me and hit the brakes. Nose in the air, couldn’t figure me out, turned and calmly walked away. Any hint of a breeze and she’d have been none the wiser. At least she didn’t blow the whole woods out lol. Great evening to be out nonetheless
