It was Greyson again! Same week as last year I believe. My buddy Andrew let us go back to his buddy stand behind his house. It's in the middle of a mile long section that always full of deer. We actually seen a brute cruising on our way in. Settled in at 4 pm. A bit before 5 I spotted part of a deer standing motionless about 50 yards away at edge of thicket. It was a real nice 120 ish 8 point. We had a stiff wind in our favor but this deer was slow and methodical with every step. Took him 10 minutes to move 20 yards. Eventually we seen this other buck move in and they calmed down a bit. Greyson stayed calm for the most part but kept looking at me smiling while staying on the bow. Eventually this guy came within 5 yards but tripped over a log and spooked and circled back at 25 yards. I stopped him and Grey did the rest. I thought he squared him on the shoulder but he hit him a touch back. He ran about a 100 yards before going through a giant water hole and circling back. We actually lost blood and I was already planning on grid searching in the morning. But I had my buddy stand at last blood and I did a big circle and found him about 40 yards ahead.
