A 6 pointer that I’ve never gotten on camera was harassing the ladies last night.

Went for a small walk about yesterday to alleviate the boredom of sitting in a blind all day for over a week. Found a nice scrape that is always there this time of year. No leaves in it at all and fresh tracks in it. I doctored up the scrape and found this rub on the walk back. Woods look deery but not much daylight activity. Hope that changes very soon!

Put a cam on the big scrape. You don’t hunt with a climber or ladder stand? I’d be hunting that rather than a corn pile while your buck cruises out of site down wind checking does at the feed site. But that’s just me 🤷🏼‍♂️ Good luck either way.

I’ve always wanted to put a cam and set it to video at this spot. Maybe this spring when I come out here for Turkey I’ll place a camera and a ladder stand for later in the season.

Well, he F’d me again! My neighbor has a bait pile 200 yards from mine. He shot a average 8 pointer yesterday morning. He calls me tonight and says he’s pissed…he got notification on his cell camera that showed the big one at his bait…at 5:30! He stayed until dark. When I get out of my stand, I walk on an angle toward the field and it brings me to within about 100 yards of his pile. He said you can clearly see the buck become alert and watched me walk out of the woods. He then walked down the logging road away from my direction. Same thing happened last year…TWICE! If I didn’t have another pile so close, I would’ve killed him last season. I’ll total the hours I have invested later, but last season I sat around 16 times all day during bow and five during shotgun before shooting a good nine point. This year I’ve already got 12 all day sits (11 1/2 hours per day). I got two more days then I guess I’ll be back gun season.

Sorry George but I had to laugh with you on your last post but now I ponder what your next move might be. Do you have another stand or were you all in on the set at the corn pile?
Did you ever find out what that loud noise came from?
