Five does and five bucks. Another unidentifiable. The only deer I’ve had an opportunity at was a spike. I could have nabbed him with a frog gig.

Mason hung this set after our morning hunt. He’s in the saddle on the backside of the tree. Sweet spot.

Ya man, that 8pt was 'Niles' and a dandy 3.5 y/o. Pics showed he made it to Feb of '21 of this year and poof... gone. Was the core buck in '19 and '20 and never showed up again so ... kill'em with sticks and smile !!

Thanks! I’m always short on luck! My buddy will be sitting in the hot seat Saturday. If that deer rolls in, I’m sure not gonna tell him to let him pass. He told me the other day he doesn’t want to shoot one of “our “ bucks, but honestly I don’t think it matters on that property. For the last several years we’ve had a bunch of nice young deer in there, and every single one of them disappeared. We haven’t had a good buck out there for several years now. I don’t know who has the rifle and good light, but someone in the area must.

I’ve been snapping a few pics to remind me of the fun I’ve had on this controlled hunt. This one is worthy of sharing. Mason has really taken to this whole saddle hunting thing but has yet to figure out how to take a leak while still strapped into the tree. He had the same sort of stage fright while fishing with Chad once... lol. I find humor where some may not.

I'm just happy to see Brock taking his fatherly duties seriously. Never miss an opportunity to give your kid a hard time. Life isn't fair. Kick them out of the house with some thick skin.

. Lord know I have enough of it but I worry more about wearing something I can comfortably draw my bow without feeling restricted. Having said that, I wore his Sitka Fanatic jacket the other day for the first time. Shot a deer too. I will admit, that thing is awesome. Both fit and function.
