Well boys, just got the phone call I’ve been waiting for. Last year I had permission to hunt the old state nursery out in zanesville, which is now a privately owned plant/shrub/tree farm. Well they called me and asked if I would come back out this late and season and do some nuisance hunting. I will be staying at a friend of mines out that way this weekend and dropping everything I see, so what I’m getting at is….. If there are any families or friends of families in need or just running low on cash for groceries, y’all can get ahold of me and I will donate all the venison I harvest from this weekend. I like to give back to people and my freezer is damn near slam full, so wish me luck and thanks for your time lol

@giles dave I hope you get a chance to hunt him , this cold weather is what gets the big boys up early in the afternoon..they will head to the crop fields early or corn if ya have it out.

18* w/ virtually no NE wind when I climbed down of not seeing any deer this evening right at quitting time. Back at it again tomorrow.

Had 4 come by then at last light had another group come behind me. Getting real close to filling this tag and letting these bucks get bigger for next year.
I’m done. Unless me and my buddy double up next weekend, it’s most likely a wrap for me. I’m pushing and not enjoying it at this point. I’ve learned to just take a step back and regroup when I get to this point. I’ve pushed myself to the point of zero enjoyment in the past and I thankfully know when to stop myself before getting there again. Gonna meet an old friend for lunch tomorrow, watch some football, drink a few beers and enjoy some perspective.
Anyone out this morning? I'm thinking tomorrow afternoon will be a good one. Snow coming if nothing else. It'll be beautiful out.
Not for deers but have a heated box blind squirrel hunt planned for midday movement with my boy. Very pretty out today.
