On a genuine and somewhat related note: These boxes can fly 30 feet in the air with a real 1960's or early 70's Cherry Bomb or silver tube! Or so I was told (it did)

Also old metal pails of this era will seperate and the bottom will fly at warp speed like a frizbee under similar circumstances but with much more ouchy potential! "Mom where are the butterfly's again Kenny is bleeding!"

In the 70's playing war was much more realistic with BB guns and nobody could deny they were shot either. Daisey red rider levers were good and all but there was that pump action gun that if you held the trigger in became like a WWI trench gun when you slam fired them. and if you were really quick became a kind of slow machine gun!

We were much more outside kids back then. If we watched TV it was Batman, 12 O'clock High (which took on a new meaning in high school) Sea Hunt Combat or the Rat Patrol.

For thrills we played Kill the Guy with the Ball: 8 guys kicking off to one guy who tried to return the ball for a touchdown, sometimes played on the street too! Or the older boys would climb a sapling and bend it over to the ground and hold it there till a younger victim...er...volunteer climbed on, then let her rip! Tip: don't get on facing the roots! just saying...
