Not hunting tonight. Farmer picking corn right next to me. If he didn't kick deer out on his first pass by I doubt he kicks any out my way. They went the other way. Lol I suppose it's sandwich time. Sit as long as I can. Swap a couple cards on way out. Call it a day. Or maybe I'll still be here in two hours. Who knows?
Honestly in my experience it depends on how they run the corn. Most run out in the last few passes but you'll have some fun out randomly also.
Gonna finish my coffee and call it a morning. Cigar was delicious.
They won't get to the last few passes today. Field is too big. Nothing moving. It's all good. I sat until 11-1130.
In KS had to wait out the lightning this morning, saw one basket rack go to bed. In til dark if i can stand the wind and cold

Rutcation starts back up in t minus 24 hrs and 1 minute. Big boy showed up right o NBC the other side of the hill they were logging this morning at 1145 chasing a doe past the camera! Hopefully he continues to be foolish cause that piece of ass is gonna get him killed!!

Cut my slaycation early. Going to be 82 tomorrow. WTF?! No action at all. Thinking it’ll hit next weekend or when the temps drop. Might be one of those long drawn out trickle ruts.

I want to hunt so bad tomorrow, but the 40mph wind and 75° temps have me thinking otherwise. Wind direction really isn’t all that great either, BUT I did a card pull at one property and have some interesting things that I’m pretty fuggin jacked to see. Other property just had 100+/- acres of corn cut that almost surround the whole chunk of timber which means more new deer should be showing up any day now… Thinking I’ll sit it out and hunt Monday & Tuesday, 12° cooler and perfect wind.
Parent teacher conference at 4:00 and then I made a last minute decision to do a hang n hunt on a piece of public. I’m about 3 sticks high with a great vantage point and a perfect wind. If nothing else it’s a scouting mission. But I’m just downwind if a couple known bedding areas and I’m sitting on a major travel corridor. We’ll see.
Maybe this was already mentioned ..... if a buck gets into a frenzied whore like state once a year, I doubt he's going to worry about what the weather is doing.

Always a bunch of excitement leading up to this time of year then I remember how overrated the rut really is give me early Oct or a cold late season over this crap any year. LOL I'm just bitching because I've been skunked more this year than ever and the bucks have just been one step ahead of me and savannah so far.
